Expert
My name is Dirk Van Merode, and I have more than 15 years experience in writing, implementing, coordinating and assessing international projects. VMD Expertise is my consulting company, to support anyone who needs my guidance for starting and coordinating an international project.
My consulting firm is a one-man organization, but I am not alone. Over the years I gathered a vast network of partners and friends throughout the globe. This is because I like working with people internationally, to share enthusiasm, to achieve valuable results together, and to leave a relevant and lasting mark in the world.
Apart from the EU, I have worked with people from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Israel, Ethiopia, Uganda and Tanzania. But my network extents beyond the partners in my former projects. If you need someone, somewhere in the world, I will find this person.
Next to being an experienced consultant and engineer, I am also an enthusiastic teacher, and a driven researcher with a passion for people and technology. I love doing what I do and I love working with people who do too.
I really like to support people in fulfilling their dreams and ambitions, to make them possible.
I have worked at different universities of applied sciences in Belgium and I am guest professor in numerous European, Asian and African universities.
I am proud to say that over the years, our projects have won several prices, which was always the result of the hard work of an entire team and fantastic partners.
I am also founding member and president of Ekisande Belgium vzw, a non-profit organisation aimed at improving the living quality of communities in developing countries. Helping people to get better in what they are doing and increasing the strength of their existing talents and improving their organizations, are my main goals.
I am an external expert evaluator for the national Erasmus+ agency in Belgium. While assessing several proposals, I learned that many good ideas and great teams deserve a helping hand.
